Are you using any kind of *digital* marketing to get in front of current and prospective members?
Chances are good that you are, but you may not even be thinking of it from that context. If you’re producing content that you put online, sending out emails, posting on social media, etc., you are actively engaging in digital marketing.
The trouble with digital marketing is that it seems like it gets harder and harder to get a member’s attention, doesn’t it?
That’s why I loved having the conversation with Abhay Khurana, the Chief Marketing Officer of Feathr, on this week’s show.
The truth is, if you’re going to be investing your time into producing digital content, why wouldn’t you want to get it in front of as many people as possible who might have an interest in seeing it?
Most people who seek out my support as a consultant are concerned about growth and reach. They are focusing intently on that first stage of member experience that I call “Discovery.”
Yet, digital marketing tools like Feathr can be used for so much more. What about getting more of your current members engaged in online conversation about an upcoming event? How about simply boosting registrations for that event? Or bringing in additional revenue from the event by getting your work in front of potential sponsors?
When most organizations think about digital marketing, they’re not thinking as creatively as they could be. There are so many more opportunities, and perhaps opportunities that are easier to target, than what you might be currently trying.
I hope this week’s chat with Abhay sparks some creative thoughts for you.

MemberCare Software Updates
The new branding for the software is beautiful and modern and it’s making the whole software initiative feel very real! Pilot projects are underway and everything is still on track for a public launch by the end of Q1. It has been fun and rewarding to see people get as excited as I am about what’s possible.
If you’d like to what I’ve been making such a fuss about – or if you think your organization might be interested in becoming a pilot site before the official launch – please visit joyofmembership.com/software. There’s a form there on that page to request a demo and I’d be delighted to talk with you about the possibilities!
